HS was
lecturer in Neurology at the Milan University between
1975 and 1980, assistant professor between 1980 and 1985, and full professor from 1985 to
his voluntary retirement in October 2006. In 1993 he became the
director of the Third Neurological Clinic of the Milan University at the St. Paul Hospital.
Whereas HS teaching activity
was always devoted to general neurology, his scientific commitment was almost entirely
directed to clinical neuropsychology.
HS enjoyed the collaboration of
many over- and undergraduates. Only some of those who played a crucial role in HS
scientific life will be mentioned here: Alan Baddeley, Erminio Capitani, Sergio Della
Sala, Ennio De Renzi, Pierino Faglioni, Federica Lucchelli and Luigi Amedeo Vignolo.
